Once you start working like this, you see maths and English in everything!

This website has been produced as a result of a grant awarded by LSIS. The grant was made available through the Skills for Life Support Programme in 2010. The resource has been developed by (managers and) practitioners. The contents should not be compared with commercially produced resources, although in many cases it may have comparable or better learning outcomes.

The Employer-led Literacy and Numeracy Delivery (ELAND) project builds on the established links Myerscough College has with employers.

The ELAND project captures the process of embedding Skills for Life into an Apprenticeship through the following key stages:

  • initial employer contact
  • completing a Skills for Life scan
  • assessment of individual learning styles
  •  working closely with the employer to develop learning resources
  •  initiating an employer/mentor-led mode
  •  completed project work undertaken and led by the learners.
